If you are missing one or more teeth, there are a number of reasons to choose dental implants. With implants, you will never have to worry about your restorations slipping out of place, and you can enjoy advanced protection for your dental and jawbone health. For your convenience, we offer all aspects of implant placement – from your initial consultation to your surgery – here in the office. Implants can be used to secure your crown, bridge, or denture, and with proper care, can last a lifetime.
Crowns are one of the most common and effective ways to repair damaged or weakened teeth. This type of restoration fully covers a tooth, protecting it and improving its appearance. Dr. Trovato is skilled in both traditional porcelain fused to gold crowns, as well as the latest all ceramic crowns. In addition, he is also able to provide the “newest” all Zirconia crowns for patients who have a tendency to clench and grind their teeth. Dental bridges "bridge the gap" left by missing teeth. Bridges are a non-removable alternative to replace your missing teeth and prevent shifting, collapse of your bite. further tooth loss, TMJ problems, and the early onset of lines and wrinkles in the lower part of your face. Bridges can be placed utilizing your own teeth, or they can be placed over the top of implants as well.
When you think of dentures, you may picture poorly fitting restorations that constantly slip out of place. Today’s dentures are a vast improvement over the false teeth of the past. Dr. Trovato offers comfortable, extremely lifelike restorations, including both traditional and implant-supported dentures. Implant-supported dentures are secured by several implant posts, precisely placed for maximum stability. If you already have traditional dentures, Dr. Trovato can often convert them into an implant-retained restoration.
Custom-crafted inlays and onlays can be an excellent option when your tooth has been compromised by decay that is too extensive for a filling. Dr. Trovato will place your inlay or onlay on the chewing surface of your molar to restore your oral health and function. Inlays are smaller, resting in between the sharp cusps of your tooth, whereas onlays extend down the sides of your tooth. Like crowns, inlays and onlays are custom-made to match your tooth for a highly lifelike appearance.
Fillings are the most common treatment for small to moderately sized cavities. Although fillings can be made of silver amalgam, at Trovato Family Laser Dentistry, we prefer tooth-colored composite resin fillings. This material blends seamlessly with your smile and, unlike metal fillings, it will not show through your teeth. Additionally, resin bonds more strongly with your teeth and they expand and contract with temperature changes at the same rate as a tooth so they don't lead to the cracking of tooth structure as a silver/mercury filling does.
